RF80G/T & RF80H Obsolescence
The Christie RF80G/T
ReFLEX Charger/Analyzer was manufactured during the 1970s and was
discontinued in the early 1980s.
The RF80H model was manufactured until 1991, when it was
replaced by the newer RF80-K model which is still current in 2006
as the RF80-K (CE) p/n 121630-006.
Availability of RF80G/T
and RF80H spares is now quite limited due to the nature of their
electro-mechanical design, evolution of electronic devices and new
digital designs. No
new replacement circuit boards are available including the A1,
A3, A4 and M1 circuit cards, and many other key components are obsolete.
We are continuing to
calibrate and certify serviceable units, and perform minor repairs
when components are still available.
We are also seeing trading
activity in the surplus market for the RF80GT & H models. Please understand that units being
offered as surplus may be unserviceable, not calibrated, missing
output cables & manuals, and some units are now beyond economical
repair.
If you currently own
an RF80G/T or RF80H, we strongly recommend you consider budgeting
for replacement with the newer RF80-K in the near future.
The RF80-K (CE) model
offers increased functionality over the G/T and H models, digital
design and displays, and supports both ni-cd and lead acid aircraft
battery chemistries. For
additional information, please contact us directly.
Thanks
for your continued use of Christie equipment!
